Ancestral Quest is an
exciting Windows program that makes it possible for
anyone to do genealogy! It is easy-to-learn and fun
to use. Ancestral Quest is the only Genealogy Software
program written for Windows to be built on the PAF 2.x
database. The PAF (Personal Ancestral FileŽ) genealogy
program is an industry standard for DOS. Databases can
be opened, saved and edited equally by Ancestral Quest
or PAF 2.x. Add-on programs and utilities designed for
the PAF database can be directly used by the data from
AQ. Ancestral Quest does not, however, require the PAF
program. Ancestral Quest provides full GEDCOM export
and import capabilities, so files can be shared with
genealogy programs that support the GEDCOM standard.
Version 2.0 of Ancestral Quest added multimedia support
of photos, audio and video. Version 2.1 added: Custom
reporting along with advanced searching and filtering
(PAF users know this as 'FOCUS'). Generation of a Web
page from your data so you can share your data with
others on the Internet. Along with the standard genealogical
data, you can include your full scrapbook -- multiple
photos for each person along with video and audio clips.

Ability to select an entire branch of your family tree.
You can export a branch, use this to split databases,
or even prune out unwanted branches that you imported

The CD-ROM version of Ancestral Quest includes, in addition
to Ancestral Quest 2.1: Ancestral Quest Quick Tour -
a video introduction to the software package and some
of the main features of the program. Hammond Maps -
The Hammond Maps of the World program, which allows
you to view continents and countries of the globe, allowing
you to 'zoom' in to a city/town level in the US, Canada
and Europe. Konica Picture Show - A demo version of
the Picture Show software to use with photos you have
developed and put on disk from Konica (a film developing
order form and mailer is included with Ancestral Quest).
Genealogy Resources - Includes a listing of the Family
History Centers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, centers for genealogy instruction, research,
and shared resources. These centers are located around
the globe. This list gives addresses and phone numbers
